Reference Tables:
Everything You Look Up

Why Reference Tables Belong in Your Pocket

There are certain things you look up repeatedly in the lab. The molecular weight of an amino acid. The recognition site of a restriction enzyme. The working concentration of an antibiotic. The excitation wavelength of a fluorophore. These are not things you need to memorise, they are things you need to access quickly and reliably while you are in the middle of something else.

The traditional options are wall charts (if your lab has them and they are not behind someone's bench), textbook appendices (if you own the textbook and it is nearby), or the internet (if the wifi works and you can find a source that is not wrapped in ads). None of these are particularly fast or convenient when you are standing at the bench with gloves on.

What Is Included

BenchCalc includes 9 searchable reference tables. An amino acid table with structures, molecular weights, pI, and pKa values. A nucleotide base reference. A complete codon table. A restriction enzyme database covering over 130 enzymes with methylation sensitivity and buffer compatibility. A reagent database with over 350 entries including molecular weight, CAS numbers, hazard data, and LD50 toxicity values. An antibiotics and selection agents reference. Scalable media and buffer recipes. A fluorophore and dye reference with excitation/emission data and laser line filters. And a gel ladder reference with 13 protein and DNA ladders including band sizes, prestain colours, mass per band, loading volumes, and dye migration tables.

Searchable and Connected

All tables are fully searchable. Type a fragment of a name, a molecular weight, a CAS number, or a recognition sequence and the results filter in real time. For hazardous reagents, you can navigate directly to the relevant safety guide. For restriction enzymes, you can jump straight into a digest calculation. The reference tables are not isolated screens; they are connected to the rest of the app.

Offline, Always

Every table, every entry, every search works without an internet connection. The data is on your device. This is not a web app that needs to phone home to look up a codon. It is a native reference that works as fast as you need it to, regardless of where you are or what your wifi is doing.
